In pursuit of rapid development in the container business and better growth of the regional economy, the group actively promotes the opening of containers with effort pouring into market research, customer development, and route operation. The well-recognized performance in preparation and trial operation gives us more experience and confidence to open "Pizhou Dongfang Port - Lianyungang Sea-River Integrated Transport Public Route for Container" in April this year, and the "Pizhou Dongfang Port - Taicang Port" River-River Integrated Transport Public Route for Container in June.

"Pizhou Dongfang Port - Taicang Port" River-River Integrated Transport Public Route for Container is the second route for container opened at Dongfang Port after "Pizhou Dongfang Port - Lianyungang Sea-River Transport Integrated Public Route for Container".

Opened and operated by Huahai Shipping in Anhui Province, the route runs directly from Taicang Port to Dongfang Port with the total navigating length of 96 hours and 1 shift per week of berthing cycle, whose maximum one-way load capacity can achieve 96 TEUs of cargo.

The major cargo of the route includes grains, building materials, plates, glass, perlite and others. It is, however, still in the trial operation phase, and will gradually increase the shipping line and shipping frequency with development. Dongfang Port will pace up to provide supporting services for transportation, thus to further advance inland river container transportation in our city.

 Recent years have witnessed Dongfang Port’s constant paces in upgrading and optimizing both soft and hard power. As of August, the transshipment of container routes reached 30,000 tons. It is expected to achieve a shipment of 5000 TEUs of containers this year. The opening of the two container routes further improve the Pizhou Sea-River combined transport system. In the future, the surrounding areas of Pizhou will also be interconnected with major ports both at home and abroad through Dongfang Port, which will not only create a convenient channel for inland river cargo but also bring about the convenience of cargo transportation while reduce logistics costs in an effective way.
