On November 25, the commencement ceremony of 52500DWT bulk carrier invested and built by the group company was successfully held in Jiangsu Qidong Jisheng Shipyard. As the first steel plate was cut at 9:58 on time, it marked the official commencement of construction of the new ship. Zhang Zhaolei, General Manager of Huayuan Maritime, Hou Dongyong, General Manager of the Shipyard, and management and technical personnel of both parties attended the ceremony.

In the early stage of new ship construction, the chairman of the group took a broad view and strongly supported Huayuan Maritime's vision of gradually eliminating old ship types and expanding transportation capacity. He has repeatedly convened relevant personnel of Huayuan Maritime to conduct in-depth research, requiring Huayuan Maritime to prudently judge the domestic shipping market, repeatedly calculate the economic benefits of new ships, and seize opportunities while firmly controlling various risks.

Under the leadership of the general manager of Huayuan Maritime, relevant personnel inspected and visited varous shipyards, other shipping enterprises, and design institutes. Through nearly a year of investigation, multi round consultation and expert argumentation, the ideal ship type and ship repair factory were finally selected.

The total investment of the new ship is about 150 million yuan, with a design length of 190 meters, a width of 32.2 meters, a full load draft of 11.5 meters, a full load load of more than 52500 tons, and a resistance to force 10 gales. The navigation area is domestic offshore, which can directly reach major large ports in the mainstream of the Yangtze River from the coast without load shedding. 

The new ship adopts the well-known Guangzhou Diesel Mitsubishi main engine, with a maximum rated power of 6270KW, a design speed of 13 knots, a endurance of 6000 nautical miles, and an average daily fuel consumption of only 14 tons when fully loaded, which is equivalent to the existing 40000 DWT ship of the company. The new ship is featured by large cargo, low fuel consumption and fast speed. The same operating cost can create 10000 tons of economic benefits. In the current domestic shipping market, the ship type is still in the blank area, with obvious advantages.

The construction period of the new ship is one year, and it is planned to be completed and put into operation by the end of next year. After the completion of the new ship, it means that Huayuan Maritime will successfully become one of the large shipping companies with 100000 DWT capacity, and its comprehensive strength will be in the forefront among the private shipping enterprises in Nanjing and even the whole province. At the same time, depending on the advantages of the new ship type, it will certainly seize the first opportunity in the domestic maritime market, create more benefits and make due contributions to the group.
